Meditation is suitable for anyone and is one of the most beneficial ways to balance one’s health and well-being.

Here are Top ten reasons to Meditate

  1. Stress relief

Meditation benefits in reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.

After all, as scientists are finding out from so many angles — stress is the root cause of almost all the other mind-body ailments and dysfunctions! Research conducted with students, with people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, or with employees confirms beyond doubt that Meditation provides deep relaxation and rest for the body and mind. Its main effects in terms of stress relief are:

  • balancing the nervous system activation,
  • balancing hormonal levels,
  • increasing brain coherence

As a result, our body and mind no longer over-react to stressful situations.

  1. Higher Work Efficiency

Research has been conducted both in smaller and in bigger companies. Across the board, regular mediators improve significantly (3 months into practice) on such crucial measures as:

  • effectiveness,
  • leadership abilities,
  • job satisfaction,
  • professional relationships,
  • physiological stability during mental task performance and status of general health.
  1. Better school performance

Numerous studies with students at all levels of their educational path

(primary school, middle school, college, universities etc) demonstrate that someone practicing meditation benefits from:

  • Improved impact on academic test results,
  • an increase in overall intellectual and cognitive performance,
  • reduced school-related stress, anxiety and depression.
  1. Healthy blood pressure

Numerous studies confirm that Meditation reduces blood pressure.
Controlled trials show that it leads to lower blood pressure in; people with hypertension, people with heart disease, old and young, under stress and at rest.

  1. Lower risk of heart disease

As lowering blood pressure is often one of the main targets in heart disease prevention and treatment. Meditation benefits heart disease by reducing stress. Scientific research has shown that Meditation benefits people with various cardiovascular conditions such as

  • atherosclerosis,
  • metabolic syndrome,
  • congestive heart failure,
  • myocardial ischemia, left ventricular hypertrophy.
  • left ventricular hypertrophy.
  1. Quitting smoking

Meditation benefits quit smoking with Meditation includes no demand or request to quit smoking. However, scientific studies show quitting smoking comes naturally with this practice.

  1. Alcoholism treatment

Among other things improving the practitioner’s quality of life, Meditation helps fight alcohol addiction.

Besides quitting drinking, research shows that Meditation also supports the emotional well-being of recovering alcoholics. Positive results come even from studies including chronic alcoholics with little social or financial support.

  1. Hyperactivity (ADHD) treatment

Meditation benefits adhd brain function. Almost every tenth person in the population has been or will be suffering from hyperactivity.

(1) ability to focus on schoolwork,
(2) organizational abilities,
(3) ability to work independently,
(4) happiness,
(5) the quality of sleep.

  1. Healthy relationships

Correlation between regular Meditation practice and healthy, harmonious relationships has been observed both at home and at work environments.

  1. Improved intelligence

Last but definitely not least, meditation benefits our intelligence!

Scientific research has found that meditators’ test scores will improve in the following areas:

  • ability to successfully reason in new situations
  • the speed of information processing
  • ability to achieve and maintain success in work
  • love and social relationships
  • a cluster of traits including cognitive functioning
  • personality and social behavior
  • balanced use of cognitive
  • affective and volitional domains (traits like comprehension, analysis, curiosity, unconventionality, synthesis, and risk calculation).

ANCIENT WISDOM FOR MODERN HEALTH:

Contrary to what the name might suggest, the technique of Transcendental Meditation is simple, natural and effortless. As taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the technique is easy to learn there are no limitations as to age, gender, race, belief system, prior spiritual practice etc.
Research and scientific basis

In terms of these results described above, there is no need to rely on good guesses or on keeping your fingers crossed. It works, it works, and it works – as proven by the most cutting-edge, rigorous research the modern science can offer.

The Transcendental Meditation technique relies on a subtle effect of sound in bringing your mind-body system to a physiological state of deep relaxation.

And as confirmed by science, this state of alert restfulness leads – through lower breathing rate, decreased stress hormone concentration and increased brain coherence – to an overall improvement in your physical and mental condition.

"Have you ever heard of that saying that 'God and nature are one and the same?'

I was in that quest for an attempt to be more deeply rooted, leading to my special day. Gaia Retreat Center reminded me of a feeling that I have been missing for quite some time… For someone who has been living abroad, the space and solitude there reflected a feeling of a different part of home.

The accumulated learnings of Transcendental Meditation has been the best gift I have ever given myself. And I have committed, since then, of professing more self love.

The feat was only made possible by the entire set of team and family that is Gaia.

Actions that are fuelled by pure intentions… currently experiencing a more quality way of life. I am blessed, fortunate and forever grateful.

In Gaia Retreat Center, true stillness speaks.”

I recently stayed at Villa Gaia for a week during a meditation retreat. The villa is in the beautiful Ubud jungle surrounded by nature. The rooms are gorgeous, in particular the bamboo room with the stone bath which you can lie in and look at the stars Bliss!!!
The villa has great facilities and a lovely communal area for relaxing!
The breakfast was fresh and cooked with love! Beautiful purple dragon food and local coconuts pancakes were a treat during my stay.
The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make every second magical. From their knowledgable tour guides to making a beautiful lemon and ginger tea for us in the evening.
It’s a 10min walk from ubud town which is an ideal location and very close to some wonderful amenities like the Chez Monique silver smith and the best coffee in town at senimans coffee studio on the walk to town.
I have stayed at a several places in ubud during my trips to Bali, however Villa Gaia really went above and beyond my expectations and I’m looking forward to my next stay there!

We learnt a lot about TM meditation from Wayan our teacher. The cleansing ritual was an eye opener! Pak Ngurah was great as he handled details about our itinerary, including planning our lunches, dinners and massages. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and we were very pleased with the hospitality and certificates at the end of our trip. Our thanks to this wonderful team!

A beautiful serene place, with great staff, service and food. A perfect location for a self-love getaway (Yoga, meditation, Balinese massages, amazing vegetarian food)! It is also only a few minutes away from Ubud’s many attractions. The 5-day TM retreat was great, perfect for someone looking to start a meditation practice or learn a new technique. I had a great time and highly recommend the retreat.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 5 day Transcendental Meditation retreat and would highly recommend the training to anyone. Wayan Sutrisna is an incredible teacher, his classes are so joyful and inspiring. He makes meditation so simple and teaches you how to easily integrate it into every day life. Doing my training at Villa Gaia was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have nothing but praise for the beautiful team there. I leave feeling refreshed, revitalised and relaxed. The amazing vegetarian food, in-house spa treatments, infrared sauna, pool and thoughtful staff made it an experience to always cherish and a place I will definitely be coming back to again.
